Ramsey Anne Hodges Alexandria, Virginia USA Created Wed 5th Aug '09 13:16 (GMT) Edited Wed 5th Aug '09 13:18 (GMT)
 | | Review: The King Elvis Presley's Original Songs Remixed For I only rated this one a 3 because on some of the remixes the music was off and did not mix well with Elvis voice. It was ok but i think Elvis music should be left alone to it's original sound. The earlier ones that was remixed like Rubberneckin and a Little Less Conservation were good maybe because the originals were fast but Elvis 50's ballards and Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog etc should not be messed with to me the music just did not fit the song or Elvis voice and it was way to over powering. I really can't recommend this to anyone unless you just want it for your collection but not to play all the time. Anne | [reply to this topic] |
 | | | | | Re: ELVIS PRESLEY The King: Elvis Presley's Original Songs Remixed For
The Next Century (2008 issue UK 15-track CD album - A new
approach to Elvis! Alex 'Latino' Zullo and Paolo Bolio have gone back
into the studio with their crew to remix and add overdubs, bringing the
King right up to date. The result is 13 superb rockers and ballads as
well as two remixes of the remixes giving us a couple of tracks that
would grace any cutting edge dance club. This is not just another PD
album, this ishow Elvis would sound if he was recording now and
there is nothing like it on the market.) £ 8.99, US$ 15.01 View this product

elvis Dublin IRELAND (REPUBLIC OF) .gif) Created Wed 8th Jul '09 12:09 (GMT) | | FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS This is Elvis's greatest album, by far. But RCA have screwed up by adding the singles as MONO. They never were mono. That was part of the excitement of buying singles like Suspicious Minds in 1969. They were the king's first European singles in stereo. Who the hell wants mono version of classic stereo soundscapes like SUSPICIOUS MINDS!!! Chips Moman, the producer wasn't Spector and didn't wear a 'back to mono' badge!

 | | | | | Re: ELVIS PRESLEY From Elvis In Memphis (2009 issue UK 40th
Anniversary Edition 36-track 2-CD album set - After returning from
service in the US Army, Elvis spent the next several years focusing on
his acting career, yielding hit films and blockbuster soundtracks. In
January 1969, seeking to gain back some artistic control, Elvis
produced some of his most significant work ever during a two-week
long series of recording sessions at American Studios in Memphis.
These were the first recording sessions after his triumphant comeback
TV special 'ELVIS' that aired in December of 1968 and the first
recording sessions in Memphis since he left Sun Records for RCA in
1955. In a career that was full of triumphs, Elvis' recordings at
American Studios stand as one of the absolute highlights. This brand
new 2-CD set contains all tracks from the sessions recorded at
American Studios in Memphis in January and February of 1969.
Presented in a fold-out digipak picture sleeve) £ 14.99, US$ 25.03 View this product

westielover Boughton, Nottinghamshire UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 15th Aug '08 09:37 (GMT) | | 50 worldwide hits vol 1 I am in the process of selling my Elvis collection as I no longer have room to store it. But am confused as to a particular LP set. I have 2 sets of 50 WORLDWIDE hits VOL 1 but they are not the same. They both have the orange centre so one is not the reissue with the tan label. they look identical labels apart from one set has the word MONO after the disc side number. Also the numbers for each disc side are different type style. Apart from this they have identical labels, colour and text. Both say rca UK both say same issue year. Can anyone shed any light on why one set says MONO on the actual disc label. They both say MONO on the front cover of the box. Do I have an oddity where something has been misprinted or are they actually different issues done in the same year. | [reply to this topic] |

boadisifus overland park, ks USA Created Sun 1st Jun '08 21:01 (GMT) | | Question to EIL: I have this exact issue, but on mine the front cover is a miss print. There is a white bar on the bottom about a half of an inch thick all the way across, and at the top you can only see the very bottom of the "T H E" and the same with the word "L I F E" in the title "THE LIFE AND DEATH OF". i just wanted to know if this is of any significance toward the price. It looks like they printed it this way.
THANK YOU GREATLY FOR YOUR REPLY John | [reply to this topic] |
