label is one of the late 20th century’s most influential and creative record labels. Based on a creative belief and
understanding in freedom of the artist they have a repertoire and history that is second to none.
Founded in 1980 by Ivo Watts-Russell and Peter Kent 4AD began as a feeder label for Beggars Banquet label but soon
established it's own fantastic line-up. The distinctive design of 4AD releases by 23 Envelope and v23 give
their releases a clear visual identity too and add to their collectability.
