bedtookfire Ottawa, Ontario CANADA Created Mon 9th Jul '07 17:37 (GMT) | | Trying to Identify Rare Poster -- Please Help!! I purchased a Smiths poster on eBay a few years back and i'll be darned if i can find any information about it. I asked the seller about it and he said he had bought it at a flea market.
Anyway, it is bright yellow and features a bunch of black and white pictures (Hatfull of Hollow era) scattered all over it like a collage. They are fairly large, so there's maybe 5 or 6 in total. On the left hand side in particular is a picture of Morrissey in concert holding up some Gladiolas like a torch. I think The Smiths are printed in big bold letters across the top of the poster. There is no copyright stamp anywhere on it.
Anyway, if any of you could provide some information about this, i would be much obliged.
And sorry i can't provide a picture. The camera is busted.
Thanks! | [reply to this topic] |

budascrie23 USA Created Sat 26th May '07 09:39 (GMT) | | Authenticity? Hello,
I am interested in purchasing an autographed The Smiths item through your site. I am interested in where the objects are attained and how provenance/authenticity are proven. I realize it will differ per object but I would like to know the basic process you use as well as what the certificate of authenticity actually gurantees. I do appreciate your help/advice. Thanks!
Cheers,
Dennis

Central railway station [later to become the G-MEX Centre] -

On the record itself the Rough Trade logo appears like the "Capitol records" logo you describe in a 7" listing. Does the logo look the same on your copy? Thanks! | [reply to this topic] |

 | | | | | Re: THE SMITHS William It Was Really Nothing (Very scarce 1987 issue
UK vinyl 7" single backed with How Soon Is Now. The song is
popularly believed to have been written by Morrissey about his friend
Billy Mackenzie, lead singer of The Associates, with whom he was
rumoured to be romantically linked. Housed in a Mauve tinted picture
sleeve featuring Billie Whitelaw as Lottie from the 1968 movie 'Charlie
Bubbles', directed by Albert Finney. This issue has now become increasingly hard to find and much rarer
than the original issue RT166) View this product

sdw12 UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 13:18 (GMT) | | Metal Stampers Can someone please explain what these are exactly and why they are collectable? | [reply to this topic] |
 | | | | | Re: THE SMITHS Still Ill (UK original pair of metal stampers for the A and
B sides of their rare 12" single. Stampers are created from the
mothers, and are negative - they have ridges where the final disc has
grooves - usually a maximum of 6 sets are created from a single
mother, before being destroyed, and each stamper has a limited
lifespan, sometimes just 1000 copies of a record may be pressed
before a new stamper is used. This rare set also comes complete with
a pair of finished record labels. The ultimate Smiths collectable!) View this product

mrs-slocombe UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 10:28 (GMT) | | favourite album? taking any solo projects out of the list, what is your favourite Smiths album? After all these years I still find the debut hard to beat - great lyrics, passion and the whole band playing like their lives depend on it - Marr's guitar work still sends shivers up my spine. | [reply to this topic] |
