nocsg Brooklyn, New York USA Created Sun 24th May '09 23:05 (GMT) | | Led Zeppelin II In CSG MONO Most CSG processed records sound just awful. I have never heard Led Zeppelin II In CSG Mono. CSG Mono Is just passable but CSG processed stereo sound just awful due to the fact the right channel Is 90 degrees out of phase. The CSG process Is a cheap way for record companies to produce a stereo to mono compatible record without making a dedicated Mono Master. Atlantic-Atco, Warner Bros 7Arts, Reprise, Elektra and A&M used the CSG process on many of their records from 1967-70 and Warner-Reprise Into the mid to late 70's (on a few records). HAECO-CSG literally helped phase out the dual Mono and Stereo Lp releases In the late 60's. Led Zeppelin II In CSG Mono is definitely a rarity and Is worth seeking. | [reply to this topic] |
 | | | | | Re: LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin II (This is something we've never had
before because it's as rare as the proverbial hen's teeth, an original
1969 US 9-track white title label promotional MONO LP with
no 'SD' prefix to the catalogue number on thelabel, custom stickered
'DJ Copy Monaural' gatefold picture sleeve. What makes this so
unusual is that unlike most mono promos, this isn't simply a left
channel blended with the right channel mono but has actually been
specifically remasteredusing the CSG process, exclusively for AM
radio stations. This was done because the lead vocals & instruments
would often sound too loud when heard played back in mono. When
the left and right channels were simply added together, the lead vocals
or instruments, being equal in level on both channels, would add up to
be 3 decibels louder than the mix in Stereo, so the CSG [Compatible
Stereo Generator] process was used to neutralise this effect & create a
more natural sounding mono from an original stereo master. This
fantastic copy shows just a little edge scuffing to the sleeve & the vinyl
is immaculate!) View this product

splintered8080, Lower Austria AUSTRIA Created Mon 17th Nov '08 22:46 (GMT) | | In Through the Out Door w/ Paper Sleeve Variations hi sleightflow!
this album featured an unusual gimmick. while the outer sleeve was made like an plain brown paper bag the inner sleeve was more differently. the a-f variation depends on the inner sleeve. there were six different sleeves. if someone bought the record in housed brown paper sleeve, not sealed, it makes it more impossible to tell which record sleeve they are getting. the code on the spine of the album jacket, which indicated which sleeve it was could sometimes only be seen when the record was sealed.

oilbird Madison, CT USA Created Sun 25th May '08 14:34 (GMT) Edited Sun 25th May '08 14:35 (GMT) | | Led Zeppelin IV rare record I recently went to a yard sale, and I found a copy of Led Zeppelin IV is fairly good shape except for a deep scratch on track one- side one, and it had no printing on side one of the label! This is an obvious mistake. It does have the Atlantic logo, STEREO, and ONE on the red and green label, but no tracks! I know this is probably rare, and I tried to research it to find it's value, but no luck. I'd like to sell it on Ebay, but I'm not sure of it's value. Can someone shed some light on this LP? | [reply to this topic] |

wolfman7421 Doncaster, South Yorkshire UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 25th Apr '08 15:08 (GMT) | | Can anyone tell me what a GENUINE Knebworth shirt looks like I believe I have a genuine Knebworth shirt, while Bonzo was still alive and kicking.... Having a good clearout of shirts, as we're going to be moving in the near future and Mrs Wolf wants some room in the wardrobe drawers for HER clothes, I need to know if it's real before I bung it on FleaBay as I don't want to rip anyone off saying it's real when it isn't....
First post, but I'll be fairly active on the Magnum (my fave band of all time) section no doubt....
Thx in advance, Wolf | [reply to this topic] |

kildwick Dartford, Kent UNITED KINGDOM Created Sun 24th Jun '07 16:37 (GMT) | | Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV - plum/red I have a copy of this album with the exact following extras...
Led Zeppelin IV De Luxe 2401012 Atlantic plum/red label format with mega rare misprinted title. Was soon found that some labels had gone through the press with TOP instead of Misty Mountain HOP ! hardly any were printed with this error on and was soon rectified, so a very scarce pressing indeed and becoming more and more difficult to locate.
Matrices A3 / B4 Stampers 1 / 1 / 8 1 / 1 / 4
Pecko Duck / Porky hand etched in run offs!

 | | | | | Re: LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin IV (Very rare original 1971 UK 8-track
plum & red Atlantic label LP. The vinyl has some crackles and pops
inbetween tracks and in quieter passages, but certainly no jumps or
scratches. Housed in original gatefold picture sleeve with inner lyric
sleeve. The sleeve itself has very minor ringwear & some edge
scuffing, but no tears or splits. The inner sleeve has a side seam split
and 3 small tears, but shows very little sign of discolouration or
creasing. A great opportunity to own this classic album at a very advantageous price) View this product

Killing Floor, housed in the original gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve
shows some wear along the opening edge, just the lightest of ringwear

marks, but retains a beautiful shine - a great copy 40 years on!) View this product

& red Atlantic label with 'Superhype Music' publishing credit, laminated
picture sleeve. This 'orange lettering' sleeve is near-perfect, with
un-faded bright white colour, perfect seams and perfect pinched spine
with fully legible print. The vinyl plays fantastic with bright, clear and
crisp sound clarity and just the faintest spindle marks to indicate play
- The matrix numbers are 588171A//1 and 588171B//1. A wonderful
example of their classic must-own debut) View this product
